Luncheon: Grow Your Business with NSCC

In this informative session over a catered lunch, Dr. Jeff Taylor, Associate Vice President of Applied Research & Innovation at Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) will share with Cape Breton’s local business community how NSCC can:

 
  • help local aspiring entrepreneurs turn their side hustle into their full-time job
  • help full-time entrepreneurs grow their business and innovate
  • help businesses up-skill their team to expand skill sets and expertise

NSCC is eager to work closely with you- our local business community- and play their role to help you lean into the possibilities of growth and prosperity and learn how you can access applied research through your business to get you there! This lunch keynote will also feature a panel of local innovators from Cape Breton, who will discuss with Dr. Jeff Taylor, their experience working with NSCC.

About Dr. Jeff Taylor

Dr. Jeff Taylor joined NSCC as its Associate Vice President of Applied Research and Innovation in June 2016, where he is privileged to oversee thriving entrepreneurship, research, international, innovation, industry engagement, and strategic partnership activities at all 20 College locations across Nova Scotia.   He represents Atlantic Canada on the National Research Advisory Committee, he is a member of the Steering Committee for the Change Lab Action Research Institute, he’s a member of the Centre for Marine Applied Research Management Committee, he sits on the Executive Council of the DeepSense Ocean Computing Network, is a member of the COVE Senior Leadership Team, and has recently been named to the Executive of the Network Steering Committee for the Nova Scotia Integrated Health Research & Innovation Strategy.   He obtained his PhD in physics from the University of Toronto and has worked in academia at the University of Waterloo, the University of Colorado, the University of Denver, and the National Center for Atmospheric Research. He is a graduate of the National Science Foundation’s Leadership Collaboratory Executive Management Program and he is currently a lead faculty in the Colleges & Institutes Canada Leadership Institute
